Great review!

The album is quite good, miles away from the previous efforts. Flows very nicely and I love the slightly swirling guitars in the background. I'm kinda sad the band wants to move into more progressive direction as I'd love to see more in this vein...

Enjoying this. It's like The Cold View on acid.

Any physical copies available...?

Sadly not, and unlikely to be any, given that they're not going to be using the IDF moniker any more.

A shame on both counts. Ah well...

Hello! It's Lejonis, vocalist and guitarist of IDF.
In February of this year, we spoke for the first time after several years of inactivity. As I said in one of the forum posts, we have decided to stop operating as an IDF. Now we have changed our name to Voidwards and changed our musical approach a bit. At the last performance, we played a track consisting of a partially reinterpreted version of this recording. We were hoping to turn this into a full-length album, but any attempts to negotiate with the labels have stalled, despite the fact that we have our own Studio and the record will not require any investment from the label - we just need information support. However, it seems that the music we play is doomed to obscurity. So we decided to give up trying to record our music other than live performances. Now we are working on new material, and we hope that the situation with the epidemic will allow us to perform again in the fall - with new material.
If anyone is interested - here is a recording from our last performance, with a fairly good sound:

Hello,

if you have your own studio why not record some songs and upload them to bandcamp? You might not get rich that way, but people catch on to good music eventually.

Hey Lejonis, good to hear from you again!
It kinda takes me back to the late '80s, memories of watching blissed-out shoegazers and space (rock) cadets getting into their groove. It's not something I could listen to all the time, but I liked it. It certainly sounds like you're aiming for a more ethereal trance atmosphere, though I'd guess part of that is the live recording and part is the quite subdued drum track (what happened to your drummer? Percussion was a really big part of IDF's sound, sometimes overwhelming, but I did enjoy the dynamics of it). Fair play, anyway. I'll stick it on our Facebook page and see if it grabs any further interest.
Just a thought, but if you're not looking for financial contribution, do you really need a label to back a studio album? You might be better off signing up with a PR agent to handle targeted publicity, or self-releasing on a platform like CDBaby, which pushes out to all major streaming platforms. With the greatest of respect for what underground labels do achieve, most of them have no real headroom for promotional budgets, so it's a bit hard to see what they could really offer you other than maybe distro trading and reaching out to friendly specialist sites like ours.
You can always email me if you want to have more of a chat about that side of things - I'm not an expert, but I might be able to point you towards some people who are!
Cheers, Mike.

I second both of the above opinions=)

Live atmosphere can hardly be caught on tape, so this will definitely limit your exposure unnecessary=)

Hello! It's Lejonis, vocalist and guitarist of ex-IDF / Voidwards.
After a long stupor, we started recording the album. In order not to delay the emptiness and lack of records, we decided to make a small single before finishing work on the album. Now it's a fully studio recording, which also fully corresponds to our ideas about sound. One track has long been used in the IDF, but was completely re-arranged. Another track is a cover of Russian dark folk legends. I think that we will be able to finish the recording during this winter, although I am not sure when and how this recording will be published. In extreme cases, there is always a bandcamp, although I have always had some distrust of self-released recordings. But it's better than nothing.
In addition to the first track from this record, the album will include four or five tracks in a style closer to it.

The release titles and tracks are originally in Russian (as well as the lyrics), so I will translate them.
Release - "Nor the Sun, Nor the Moon".
The first track title is "Eclipse". The second is "Darkness and Rest".
