This band is destroying the little bit of elegance they had that made their debut a strong piece of majestic FD... It turned very basic and trivial

I still have high hopes for the whole album, mainly because the guy from Void of Silence is one of my favourite guitarists so I'm a sucker for his majestic guitar lines. But the second track does bring serious concerns, it's way too fast and aggressive, not fitting with the band's sound at all. Hopefully the album will be more in the line of "The Minoan Tragedy" which is pretty nice for the most part=)

Both tracks are awful...

Very underestimated, this band.

Horre from Finland offers a soothing, appeased and contemplative type of FD. Klamerin, I think you'll dig this one! ;)

Like a better, more fluent and intense Eyes Of Solitude

the soaring, solemn momentum right in the middle is thrilling. After that, it runs out of steam a bit. Maybe the vocals are overbearing a bit too. Still, more than mediocre.

Following, here comes the new Hellish Form that you drew my attention on with the The Cure cover (that I don't like!)/ The track streaming is a beautiful crushing, atmo sludge Doom performance, I must say:

Found In Oblivion rather unbearable. On the other hand, the Horre is nice, but I knew about them. The jury is out for Hellish Form, because of the vocals... :p

Post Re: To what listenest thou?

Frowning are always worth listening, one of the best of the canonical doom by the numbers bands=)

Hellish Form new song is a major progression from the pretty average debut, I'm quite excited for their new album!

As for Horre - I listened to it a couple of times and while its soothing nature is definitely alluring, it does not grab me entirely. The vocals and some of the synths are a definitely weak point, but I will give it another try or two, it might grow on my=)

The latest Pertubator album is actually nice, I know them from the beginning since I followed Blood Music before they single-handedly made from this artist an almost mainstream hit, part of the retro wave revival, but his music was always too energetic for my liking, while this new one has quite more atmospheric sound=)

Simple, primitive but pleasantly hypnotic:

Very solid epic doom from croatia:

Façade/ The eternal dance. Too bad the last song is so useless and boring...

Though I wouldn't mind another song in the vein of Death instead of Moksha, I actually enjoy it - the narrative is pleasant and the second part progresses nicely=) Anyway, an amazing album, much better than what the band's done previously.

AHAB/ the call of the wretched sea.

A masterpiece this album, it still delivers on each new listening.

Post Re: To what listenest thou?

There's been a split last year uniting The Howling Void and a band I had never heard of: Excantation.

THV offers the same rehashed melo, vague and eventless FD- I'd like this project to reinvent itself...

Honestly, Excantation are as eventless and expected (what makes for a logical split), but , well, it's a discovery, and if it's monotonic alright, it's potent and it has a kind of morbid punch I can appreciate.

It's free too.

I am on the Epic Doom YT channel since 8 this morning and this is the first track I need to recommend. Gothic epic doom:

Post Re: To what listenest thou?

For The Howling Void/Excantation split - I agree that The Howling Void albums are starting to get old, the new song is pretty unremarkable. I actually enjoy the guitars in Excantation quite a lot as they have a nice raw tone, but the vocals are so bland, never-ending and never-changing that it's annoying. The guy from The Howling Void actually plays synths in Excantation=)

The Call of the Wretched Sea is indeed a classic masterpiece=)
