From deep in the heart of Italy's stoner/doom underground, Zippo's brand of 1999 desert metal comes winging down on your head like a bong-sucking bat, red-eyed and ready for love. This is amazingly accomplished desert riff metal, rich in dynamics, made by those who clearly love music more than they love fashion. They've gone for the metaphorical throat of all that's good in good ole' stoner rock, invoking Kyuss of course, then dragged it through a horde of Swedish influences ranging from Astroqueen to Generous Maria to Sparzanza. Strong vocals, varied songwriting, and hot ensemble playing. Yeah!
I'm feeling the love for this one. You can keep your screamcore; it's done anyway. Zippo plays it old school, and it is good.
