Ingredients: The guitar sound of My Dying Bride 'As the Flower Withers', splendid lead guitars as in My Dying Bride's 'Like Gods of the Sun', vocals like Darren's in Anathema's 'Serenades', a small glimpse of Katatonia's 'Last Fair Deal Gone Down' and Paradise Lost' 'Shades of God', female vocals like Floor from After Forever and a bottle of two of Estonian Originality (2001, a good year). Add spices to own flavour, and there you have the main ingredients of this splendid mini-release of Estonian band Whispering Forest. With all the references to the other bands just mentioned, one might get the impression that we're talking about a clone here, but that couldn't be more wrong! This band manages to blend all those delicious influences in a nice (but way too short!) portion of atmospheric doom metal. After releasing a whole bunch of demos and cd-r releases under an endless list of different line-ups, Whispering Forest finally has a more or less stable line-up and decided to search for a record label.
