Before I start with the main part of the review I'd like to encourage you to download the demo from here: http://www.soundlift.com/band/music.php?id=81248. The reason for this is that ever how hard I try to explain this, The Bizarre Blue Spectre is still hard to grasp. So how to describe this sound? Well, a lot of the sections remind me of a doom version of the industrial band Ministry. On the other hand the music is also very Zaraza-like. In addition to this you get an occasional up-tempo part that almost reminds me of industrial/death metal. The calm guitar riffs are heavily distorted through robotic sounds, creating a cold and sterile atmosphere. The equally distorted growls make the music no less pleasant. Other than that the band truly deserves the label "bizarre". Having two names for each track is just one of the good examples of that. Still fans of industrial doom like Zaraza won't go wrong in downloading this demo. |
