Sunwheel, or to give their full name, Sunwheel Power Express, is a Dutch band that plays stoner-rock. Being heavily inspired by such '70 acts as Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer and Jimi Hendrix, they create some ultra groovy sounds. Its actually un-canning and almost disturbing how close they get to the sound and feel of those bands. The entire demo has that 70ties vibe about it, right down to the way it has been produced. They definately score high points for both musicianship and groove on the almighty grandscale of grooviness. Less points however on the originality scale (but that is the case for almost any band playing this type of music?). All in all I'm sure most fans of old 70ties psychedelic rock will enjoy this. The only shame about this demo is the sudden drop in volume and production on the last track, 'Stone Cold Woman'. What is going on there guys?! Anyhow for more information visit their homepage at http://go.to/sunwheel or write them an e-mail at: sunwheel@biofoot.com. |
