Mudslinger describe themselves as "an unique collaboration of sludge, doom, thrash and death metal". Although they do feature all these elements, their main musical reference seems to be death-metal with only slight touches of the rest. Mudslinger generally plays slow to mid tempo death with an occasional blast of speed. The music is neither melancholic nor depressive, and seems to revolve around insanity (both musically and lyrically). Mudslinger pull their strength from two sides: first they experiment a lot with the vocals. From different styles of grunts to various types of clean vocals (one of the clean vocal styles actually reminds me of Pantera!). Second, Mudslinger play some damn tight sounding music that sounds very pleasing to the ear. So although perhaps not doom in the purest sense of the word (more death-metal), I will have to admit that this CD found its way into my Cdwalkman a lot. A good solid rhythm section and an extremely tight sound make this CD candy for the slow death-metalish ear. But don't expect pure depression or anything too original from this album.	1. Dust 2.
