While one would expect a 'Cry Of Infinite Torment' to be loud, intense and perhaps even disturbing, this is not the case according to Life Curse. On the contrary - it's mainly empty, lingering and very depressive. Not to mention a tad strange as well. Life Curse is a combination between doomy drone and noise. Many would connect this with the drone bands which use static noise. The noise elements found here are mainly in the form of odd and chaotic electronica elements and vocals that pop out of the rumbling drone, like a badly tuned radio channel. While this might sound negative, I don't think of it that way. In fact it is what sets it apart from most other generic drone projects. It's less repetitive than most, making it easier to listen to for long periods. This demo has much in common with the earliest works of Fall Of The Grey Winged One. Those who have the patience to listen to that project would most likely either fancy this as well, or they would find it a bit too strange. If you want to know which one you are, then I recommend that you go here and find out: Life Curse's Soundclick page. The whole demo lies here for free download. |
