Kongh

Demo 2006 (Demo CD) 2006 Teenage Disco Bloodbath
This is the first demo for the quartet from Vetlanda (south Sweden), and they are really launching a massive sonic attack to anyone who is going to listen to their work. The sound of the band is something like a crossover between doom/death and post metal. The four songs on this album are lengthy, epic in parts, and because of the nihilistic feeling of the music, quite depressing. The harsher and more aggressive parts are intertwined with some melodic - almost acoustic parts that add more to the feeling of despair.

‘Zihuatenejo’ is a very harsh and aggressive track with screaming vocals, and for some reason, it feels like it could be the kind of music H.P. Lovecraft had in mind when he was creating his “Cthulu” mythology. ‘Adapt the Void’ is twisted and deranged, as its title suggests. ‘Turn into Dust’ is a song that you don’t play to someone with suicidal tendencies. The demo ends with ‘Thunders Collide’ that continues the majestic trip into the frozen hells of human solitude.

Even if it took me some time to get into the music of Kongh, we might be present at the birth of a great new band.
