In Death I Become

As the Razors Kiss the Flesh... (Demo) 2005 None
In Death I Become is a new band from the state of Virginia in the USA. On this demo, they send out some suicide-themed doom with a touch of gothic metal.

The songs are mid-tempo and melodic, but with relatively heavy chugging riffs. As you might have expected, the whole demo has a pretty depressive atmosphere, and this is accentuated by the sullen clean vocals that dominate most of the tracks. That is also why I made a reference to gothic metal. It is mostly the atmosphere and the downish vocals that made me think of 'gothic', not masses of keyboards or operatic vocals, because this band has only the basic instrumentation: vocals, guitar, bass, drums.

All in all, In Death I Become has made a nice demo, but it will take a lot of practice and musical development before the band can stand out from amidst all those other bands. At the moment, there's still a lot of 'magic' missing.

1. Prelude to Agony & Despair
2. I Lie in the Hourglass
