Em Sinfonia

Em Sinfonia is a project started by Paul Kuhr (Novembers Doom) and Brian Griffin (Broken Hope), but there are no clear influences noticeable in their music. The best description for Em Sinfonia's music would be 'melodic and mellow doom with a touch of gothic-metal', because of the use of female vocals, the violin and the keyboards. The lady called Bunny has a weak and unclear voice and that makes this release pretty weak. The 4 songs this album contains last about 8 minutes each, and believe me, that's not good when you don't like them. The songs have some highlights, but that doesn't justify the weak parts, which are often boring and annoying. One positive aspect of their music is the fact that Em Sinfonia uses some cool samples which help to create the gloomy atmosphere and also Paul's phenomenal grunts, and the romantic keys are fine to listen to, but the weak female vocals and the silly guitars ruin it all together. I have no doubt that these artists are talented, but they've got to come up with something more attractive and original; this kind of doom is a shame to the genre. Concluding, I have to say that I don't like this album, and I don't listen to it anymore. I awaited this release very eagerly, but when I finally got it, I was deeply disappointed.
