Disappearer is a three piece band from Boston, MA, USA that is heavily influenced by Isis, Pelican and other bands that share a similar sound. Their music is instrumental, and after listening to the songs a vast number of times, I still have the opinion that there should be vocals. If not for the sake of variation, then at least to get a sound that isn't a copy of the above mentioned acts. The quality of the three songs is very high, and if they tried to communicate a little more with the listener, I would enjoy this a lot more. There are neither highlights nor disappointments. Everything sounds practically the same most of the time, which is both the strength and weakness of Disappearer. As background music, this is very nice, as what most easily comes to mind while listening to Disappearer are beautiful landscapes and rainy days of the Fall. Without a strong identity, however, they'll just be an addition to the pre-existent host. The sound of the recording is exactly the way it should be for this kind of music.
