This is a short, but powerful work of this German doom death band. Their music shows references to the sound of (old) Anathema and (old) Paradise Lost, but Crestfallen have an own identity due to the use of some beautiful female vocals and excellent violin here and there and the many accelerated parts that make their sound more aggressive. However, in their slower parts the music sounds heavy and they remind somehow of the two before mentioned bands. They don't use any keyboards, which actually contributes to the originality of their sound, since most of the bands playing this kind of atmospheric doom death make use of this instrument. I'm not aware of other works of this band and it is hard to find more information about them, so I assume that they have split by now, although of course I hope they didn't. |
