Partners In Crime : Die Sublimo!

This promo is not of excellent recording quality, but the quality is more than good enough when considering what necessity exists for such angry, raw sludge. Partners In Crime is a very doomy sludge act from France that gives me fond recollection of the first time I heard Grief or Noothgrush. This promo comes from the band (originally a two piece) as a three piece, with the addition of a bassist named “Void”. Since the release of 'Die Sublimo!', Partners In Crime added yet another guitarist, and currently exists as a four piece.

The band wields not only the power of raw low notes and the influence of old American hardcore, but also the power of the ski mask, which they are seen wearing in basically every picture I can find of them. Hearing this band (although it shouldn't) puts a smile on my face, because when I hear sludge done right I become happy. This band does sludge right. The music is slow and angry, but has moments that take off in the music, causing the listener to move in a way similar to a person doing their best to get a tarantula off of their head.

Be sure to get stoked for the Partners In Crime/Frogskin split coming out soon (although I don’t know how soon). [edit by admin.: Partners In Crime split up before the split ever got released, and it doesn't seem like it will ever see the light of day.] Fans of Grief, Eyehategod, Corrupted, and Toadliquor need to keep an eye out for these guys.
