Dust : Dust

This demo band from Germany understands the art of creating irresistible, heavy groove. Their psychedelic riffs and endless guitar solo’s create smoke and weed-induced euphoria and other stoner related sentiments. Olli Karic's harsh vocals reminded me of those of Warhorse's vocalist, since they both seem to have a preference for taking a good sip of quality Whisky before recording their vocal parts.

The band doesn’t offer any new idea's in the genre, but they are admittedly quite good in what they do. From the heavy, distorted parts with screamy vocals and groovy guitar solo's to the calm, serene bass intermezzi, Dust have it all. The muffled, obscure production is perhaps somewhat of a downside here, as this style requires a heavy, powerful production.

I would recommend this promising demo to fans of Electric Wizard, Warhorse, Sloth and other heavy groovesters.
