Senthil : Crypticorifislit

Senthil is an American project that plays slow funeralish doom metal with a strong noise influence. This is their first demo, released for free as MP3 (visit here for download), and as a Pro CD-R from Autumn Winds productions.

This demo is basically one long track of very slow-tempo metal, with very noisy guitars and sickly screaming and growling. Several riffs or melodies are exchanged and there are also some clean guitar interludes. Another feature are some samples of what I think is a French movie, which sound very aggressive and violent.

On the whole, it is difficult to judge this song. This kind of music stands or falls with its atmosphere. One either likes this sick, dirty kind of noise doom, or one doesn't. While I was not particularly touched by this release, it contains enough elements to make it interesting to those who are really into sick, noisy music. If you think you apply, and/or like projects like Wormphlegm and Moss, give it go, this might be a 'pleasant' surprise. If not, don't bother.
