|For this split, two underground extreme doom artists team up with a young label. Both Senthil and Bosque have released earlier demos, so they might be familiar names to some. We get some raw tracks from both artists that might be interesting for those deep into the extreme underground. |
Portuguese Bosque comes with a new tripartite track in the vein of the 'Dead Nature' demo. That means slow, pounding drums, searing lead guitars, and hellish screams. The calmer interludes and the main guitar lines make these tracks varied and interesting, but the lack of sound quality hinders the music. I hope Bosque will manage a bit more next time.
On the other side, lack of production seems to be what Senthil is thriving on. These two tracks are full of raw guitars, screams, vomiting, and whatnot. Obviously, this project is all about being as sick as possible. Think Stabat Mater and Wormphlegm. Now, you could either say this is (intentionally?) underproduced easy-attention crap, or raw, underground and extreme. It's all in the eye of the beholder. I'd say this 'ekkstreme sikkness' thing is past its prime. If you think it's not, you might like this.
