Avrigus : The Final Wish

Avrigus is an Australian atmospheric doom band by Simon Gruer and Judy Chiara. And they have not been getting the attention they deserve. This for some part is due to the fact that the distribution of this album is downright terrible.

Creating warm sounding atmospheric doomy metal with mainly female vocals this an album to dream away on. Next to the female vocals there sometimes are some, also clean, male backing vocals. I guess the female vocals are a hate 'em or love 'em case. If you are not too keen on female vocals to begin with you will probably not enjoy them.

Musically they rely heavily on keys and piano. This is what gives the music its warm yet melancholic feeling. The entire album overflows with atmosphere and a slightly dreamy atmosphere. My only complaint in this is the totally pointless track 'Desolate' that seems to be a 3 minute noise intro to the following track 'Flesh'.
