Grievous : One Breath from Winter

Grievous is a chimera - a three headed beast - of doom. The middles head is clearly sludge, but the heads on either side, drone and stoner, stand strong as well. As a whole the beast is ugly, filthy and a true heavyweight. With the pissy attitude to top it all, it'll scare away any white knight.

Amongst others the band is influenced by both Grief and YOB. The similarities to both can clearly be heard, but don't expect a soundalike. Neither do they sound like Eyehategod despite being a mixture between stoner/doom and sludge/doom.

However, standing on one's own two feet doesn't necessarily make top notch music. Grievous clearly makes decent stuff that will put your body (more precisely your head) in motion and perhaps even get you to play some air guitar. Still they lack the little extra that would make them truly memorable.
