Sloth (US) : Behold The Power Of..............Sloth/NOYFB....Presenting 10 Hymns For All To Obey

This split contains some of Sloth's earliest bits of noisecore. The style from the three 'Life is Stupid...' tracks is pretty much the same as you'll find an just about all their later noisecore releases (e.g. 'Graphic Training Aid' and '"Intermission" AKA "The 7" You Don't Have To Flipsy-Doodle"'). The last one of them is played solely on a Casio Keyboard, proving that you don't need advanced instruments to sound totally retarded (which is a good thing, mind you).

NOYFB's name is an abbreviation for 'none of your fucking business'. Sure, there is a polite version that replaces 'fucking' with 'freakin', but I seriously doubt they intended the name to represent that version. These grindcorers aren't exactly polite. I don't really feel like namedropping since grindcore isn't that heterogeneous a genre. If you've heard two or three of them then you know sort of what to expect. It might be worth mentioning that they use dark growls instead of the regular vokills, but that is as far as they go in the originality department. Even so, NOYFB still keeps it going. Thus I expect there are those who are more enthusiastic about these guys than I am.

A total of 107 copies were released of 'Behold The Power Of.............. Sloth-NOYFB ....Presenting 10 Hymns For All To Obey'. Since it's printed "No Repress...Ever" on the back I feel confident that no new copies will be made either. Despite this and the age of the release I still regularly encounter this release on eBay. True, it's not Sloth's finest moment, but, in my opinion, it's still too enjoyable to sell.
