Labyrinthus Noctis : Forever Fallen Darkness

Labyrinthus Noctis share their name with an area on the surface of Mars. and they've adopted a space, goth, doom sound that brings to mind the later works of The 3rd and the Mortal. In comparison to these bands, their sound and approach is less progressive but much more metallic.

The songs that captured my attention most were 'Sandglass' and 'At Dawn No Firefly Survives' but the rest of the tracks on 'Forever Fallen Darkness' are not very far behind in quality, The folkish 'Lost In The Castle' or the alternative modern rock of 'Killer Glance' are strong as well.

This is a very solid release that will help to fill the void left by the silence of The 3rd and the Mortal. Unfortunately, the magnificent singer that created some of the magic on this album left the band and she has been replaced by a new singer.
