![]() We review any Doom-metal and doom-metal related album we can lay our hands on. Our final goal is an impossible one and that is to have reviewed every demo, every album, every single released within the doom-metal genre. If a band once made a doom-metal album we will continue to follow this band and also review all later or earlier releases which may not be doom-metal anymore at all. The same goes for some artists who used to be closely related to the doom genre but change style. We feel these reviews may still be interesting for doom-metal fans. Something does not need to be pure doom-metal to be reviewed and sometimes we will review some stoner rock or other closely related music like gothic-metal or darkwave. We however try and keep this to a minimum and keep the core of all reviews to doom-metal of whatever style. The main goal of the reviews is to describe the music to fans and not to boost our own ego's or give petty judgements nobody cares about. However our reviewers are encouraged to speak their opinions about albums as honestly as they can and while our main goal is to describe how the music sounds we do not shudder to give harsh or positive comments. This includes well known bands, we will never give a positive review based on the name of the band on the cover. We review the music on the album and NOT the band, label or number of fans they have. We do not grade albums because our main goal is to inform and not to sit in judgement. We however do list a lot of additional information about the album where we can. As we sometimes review very odd and rare releases we might not always be able to provide this information (like an album cover) but we will always try to do our best. Some of our reviewers specialise in one particular genre while others will review the entire spectrum of the doom-metal genre. This is done so that every reviewer is comfortable with the reviews they write and has enough knowledge to write a good review. We never force our reviewers to turn in reviews and all reviews are written because of love for the genre and not for any other reason. |
