It's really nice to see a typical in-depth and detailed review by Mike again=) Plus I learned a new nice word - pantechnicon=)

As for the album itself - I rarely listen to Astral Sleep, but I always enjoy the melodies they create. But I have to admin I'm not really a fan of some of their experimentations - for the example the ending cry in Schwerbelastungskörper is simply absurd and so out of place in an otherwise amazing track, the best new pure funeral doom track I've heard lately.

I liked it, but some of the experimentations are indeed rather wild... :p

The track Klamerin talks about is an astonishing piece of experimental music!! I haven't heard such a baroque and, yes, wild songwriting since Pan-thy-Monium or Nightly Gale. Really refreshing. And honestly, I thing the goblin cry is too short too be annoying, rather it works like an exclamation mark at a right moment, if there can be anything "right" in this composition! :D

Now, Im going to listen to the whole of this strange beast...

How do you know it's a goblin? :p Anyway, yes, it's a bit out of place, but so short you hardly notice it...
