 Stand up comedy
I really really love Dylan Moran: click me for a start
not only his standup though - anyone seen Black Books?
so far i haven't seen better stand up comedy but I do know some other great artists like Henry Rollins, Bill Bailey, Ricky Gervais and I wish to see more of that.. what can you recommend? what do you like?
also I would love to see links to series like Black Books or Peep Show or That Mitchell and Webb Look and stuff like that...

If you like Dylan Moran, check out Ed Byrne for a slightly bouncier version.
Also keep an eye on Jim Jeffries and Brandon Burns.
Oh... and the best "comedian" ever... George Carlin (with Bill Hicks a close second)

Louis CK is probably the best living comic today.

Jim Norton is cool.
Andy Kindler is also known as a 'comedian's comedian.' Basically meaning he's not a huge punchline guy, but known for his eccentric delivery and intelligent observations.

Black books are yotally my fav. "Manny, go and fetch me my lolly..." \And yeah, both Moran and Bailey have some cool ones. Actually, I was kinda surprised when I saw this guy do stand-up comedy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Psh2a72_JfY

I like Chris Rock. Especially Bigger And Blacker. Hilarious stand up! Also into Katt Williams and Eddie Griffin. Carlos Mencia and Dave Chappelle are hilarious too!!

 Re: Stand up comedy
I used to really enjoy Ricky Gervais. Animals, Politics, all good stuff, not to mention The Office. Fame was a bit wobbly and his latest one, Science, was just rubbish. I can't stand him anymore. He just has such an annoying laugh. I have to say though, ratatoeskr, you're absolutely right, Dylan Moran is the unsurpassable master of comedy. Flamingos serving drinks."I ate your paintings"On love.On love again.

 Re: Stand up comedy
Stephen Hughes is totally different , just definately inspired by hicks Hughes is not in your face like hicks, hes this aussie metal head with long hair and slayer t shirts etc, and hes really clever. Just cos you dont like hicks does not mean you wont like him is what im saying

 Re: Stand up comedy
Stephen Hughes is one of the best stand up comics I've seen. They call him the heavy metal comedian because he was in a few metal bands before he went to stand up. One of his bands, Slaughter Lord, was a popular live act back in the day around this part of the world. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0lVbMOMTi0
