Post Quotes

Here you can post whatever has left its mark an you. This can be a quote from some book, movie and so on...

For example:

"Human vocabulary is still not capable, and probably never will be of knowing, recognizing, and communicating everything that can be humanly experienced and felt."

"What kind of world is this that can send machines to Mars and does nothing to stop the killing of a human being?"

"Inside us there is something that has no name, that something is what we are."

José Saramago:
"Blindness"

:)

Damn it Jim, I'm a doctor not an escalator!

I don't know why I like this star trek quote so much, maybe because I am also not an escalator. But then, I'm not a doctor either.

Lady Astor to Churchill "Winston, if you were my husband I would flavour your coffee with poison"
Churchill: "Madam, if I were your husband, I should drink it"

Bessie Braddock to Churchill "Winston, your drunk!"
Churchill: "Bessie, you're ugly, and tomorrow morning I shall be sober"

But who can say what's best? That's why you need to grab whatever chance you have of happiness where you find it, and not worry about other people too much. My experience tells me that we get no more than two or three such chances in a life time, and if we let them go, we regret it for the rest of our lives.
Haruki Murakami

"You can live 100 years in the city without realising that you were dead a long time ago"-Tolstoy(Rough translation)

"If I don't create the alchemy of trasnforming this mess in gold, I am lost"-Nietzsche(Again a rough translation, I couldn't find a proper english version for them so I translated them from portuguese to english myself)

I'd say that these are simplistic, sentimental quotations that mean nothing. Where are they from?
