Nice and entertaining melo post-doom with a slight gothic vibe - some guitar lines remind of TON...

Nice... he is the guitarist of a black metal band, Autumnfall... so, he is going in a completely different direction here.

I listened to this recently, I think based on promotion by the label releasing it. It's indeed entertaining, especially the catchy melody in Absence of Light.

Cavernous Gate's album Voices From A Fathomless Realm which I mentioned some time ago is now released. It's quite a mixed bag of styles - the Dance of December Souls-like parts are less than I wished, there are quite a few sections with "evil" blackish vocals that are very generic and unexciting, but also clean vocals which are used in a very nice way. Worth a listen.

The Howling Void's next album Into Darkness Ever More Profound has it's first single out now. While I liked Bleak and Everlasting despite being quite generic this is a bit too much.

I wasn't impressed by Cavernous Gate and it's a shame because I used to like Helrunar a lot... I didn't dislike the Howling Void's track. I thought it was a tad different from the usual symphonic marching tunes...

I can't say I am impressed, but I like Cavernous Gate a lot. This clean voice is good and suits the somber, if not memorable music. Good pick imo.

Miscellen/ Blue Ruin. This stuff is extraordinary. I love this kind of sound, a sophisticated crossover between melo dark metal and goth, quite similar to Tool.

Grimirg - MMXV - I

The soprano voice coming in the middle of 'Infinity reveals' surprises and thrills.

This guy has since this dedut albums produced 4 other albums, and I know none of them...
