The fridge magnet is a nice comparison, but I beat you in that field: I once compared a doom album to a pot of yoghurt. on a side note: since yesterday, the writing of the posts here appears in bold in before their submission, does it only happen to me?

I quite liked it, but not sure on its long term appeal... BTW, my posts don't appear in bold before I submit them...

Haha, yep, definitely going to have to concede on that one. But it does sound like an interesting future challenge in the making...

Re: Towards Atlantis Lights - "Dust Of Aeons"
the pot of yoghurt image was primarily aimed at the bits of fruits it can contain. This was a strikingly vivid image that was kind of obvious to me. to the topic: great guitar lines, meandering songwriting, repelling vocals - I can't stand the singer's voice, in any of his projects... ("but that's only me", as polite people use to add)

I think the album is great. The guitar lines are marvelous and I also enjoy the vocals.
Kostas is quite restrained here, unlike in Pantheist, so his clean vocals are less idiosyncratic than usual and actually hit a quite nice spot where pure mournfulness is prevalent and perfectly fitting. His grunts are also pretty subdued and enjoyable (I have a hard time with his screamed grunts, but they are hardly used here=)

I like this a lot. I've been spinning it periodically since it came out and find it a very interesting release. Not least because it's a genre I don't normally care much for. The only thing that bugs me are the drums, or the drum sound. They're not 'powerful' enough, or something. Like whoever mixed it sort of forgot about them. Are they even real?
