Which of the many bands called Ghost are you talking about, anyway? The context in which they're mentioned makes me curious about them - any recommendations?

I think it's this Ghost the talking is about (I can't stand it myself):

Thanks! Sounds like classic Heavy Metal to me - a genre I'll never get into.

Ghost have been unmasked via internal financial disputes (sad), while Katatonia put out a(nother) Record Store Day EP... meh.

Katatonia have been solid, but I really find I have to be in a certain mood for their music. It can't be put on at any time.... mostly when I'm tired and on the metro.

Thanks to their awesome gig at this year's WGT, I've finally managed to get into Alcest's back catalogue, and I honestly can't see why anyone would consider 'Kodama' weak compared to their earlier albums. It's not very different in terms of style and songwriting. Sure, it doesn't bring anything new to the table, but I still think it's possibly their best - on par with the sophomore at least.

I really liked Katatonia when they made Dance Of.... They used very little instruments and created a vast and epic sound. This is an album I play regulary since it came out. I also have Discouraged Ones, which I like, but which is by far not as good as Dance.... I also heard to the other albums 1-2 times but the don't get me. Saw them 5 years ago when PL headlined. But live.... I don't know... Not so good.

However Dance Of Decembre Souls is one of may all time favourites!
