Re: Free Downloadable Doom Albums
Mandy of Crone/ Murkrat had already produced an album with the same kind of early-blues vibes, it's called Dust and the Howling Wind. It's mournful as hell:

The Limestone County Chain Gang, as they say it, "explores the thematic relationship between early chain gang blues music and funeral doom metal, juxtaposing the down-tempo styles to illustrate a shared anguish." That's kinda interesting, especially the second track. Would be curious to hear more
Listening to this right now and this is really interesting. Not sure how this would hold up in a full length, but I would be curious to hear more in any case. "Blessed Who Dashes Littles Ones Against The Rock" is particularly good. Thanks for the heads up!
African Doom Metal anyone ? Vale of Amonition is from Uganda. Can't say I'm 100% convinced by their music, but it's still interesting; I like the spoken words on the first track for exemple.

big Aaron Stainthorpe influence in the way the vocals are modulated. Not totally convincing, but hey, still I applaud the break of doom metal into Sub-saharan lands...

Byrgan offers some slow and depressive Doom Metal, and it's kinda good:

Mammoth Storm is a band I found out about last year, it's a project of the bassist of Draconian, I think. Really good stuff! (They have already been mentioned in these pages)
