Hi there,
I have just joined. I started to listen to Doom Metal in the middle of the 90ies with Paradise Lost, Anathema, My Dying Bride, Tiamat etc. I have been following some of their developments ever since (i.e. Anathema and My Dying Bride). In 2002, I found Opeth and this has been my top favourite band to this day. I listen to a lot of different music nowadays but the doom roots still do shine through. Tonight I have found two promising bands "Warning" and "Lamented Souls". I ordered the CDs right away. I am looking forward to reading more about the doom metal scene and maybe talk about this special kind of music now and then. I live in Northern Germany !

The name is Steven from Arizona out west here in the US, I listen to all styles of metal but with regards to doom I'm fonder of the traditional style you know the usual mentions Candlemass, Pagan Altar, Lord Vicar. I like some funeral doom though. Hope to get off on the right foot here!

Re: Introduce yourself once more Thanks for welcoming me! Oh, do you think it is particularly bleak here in this area? You mean regarding Doom Metal? I am saying hello to Carthage and Ancient Grave as well. That is really a list, Ancient Grave. I only know a fraction of these bands, maybe half of them by name only ... *blush*

Re: Introduce yourself once more I mean regarding the weather, the post-war concrete architecture, some other things and, of course, Doom. Apart from Hamburg, there doesn't seem to be much of a scene here at all.

Those were the days! Did I ever mention that I actually met my neighbour someday? Anyway, whoever introduced that penguin emoticon to the forum deserves a medal, each time I look at it I can't help but laugh, and that's quite an achievement for one little gif animation!

Greetings strangers,
I'm here to help the German board get a little more action and because the german forum i found is nearly dead + the admins there dont activate my account (maybe they are dead too^^)...
I'm discovering doom for myself, about half a year, my favourite bands are Ahab (they got me into this), MDB (at first i didnt liked them whysoever... but the latest album definitely got me!) and especially Mistress of the Dead <3 my e-bass is named Henriette, you know ;)
You may say I'm into funeral stuff.^^
Hope we can have a nice time and maybe I can see some concerts outside Germany =)
