Post subject:  Which pop songs would you like to metal-ify?

I sometimes hear a song on the radio and think: that's just dying to be given a death-metal reinterpretation. For example, The Bangles Walk Like an Egyptian would sound awesome if covered by (because who else?) Nile. I would also enjoy hearing a Cannibal Corpse rendition of My Sharona.
So my question is, which pop song do you think desperately needs covering, and by whom?

On the subject, this song should sound properly "metallified" (or rather rock-y-fied, I guess):

To me it totally sounds like a rock song played with synthesisers, so making rock/metal version of it would be almost like "making it right" (and by "right" meaning "traditional", something like that).

P.S. Actually I already see guitar version in related vids on youtube. Well, that was expected I guess.

I would like to see John Lennon's "working class hero" covered my My Dying Bride :D

Not really pop, but I'd like to hear metal remakes of shoegaze and post-punk songs.

First and foremost, I could see Lethian Dreams doing a good cover of 'Altogether' by Slowdive.
I could also imagine Paradise Lost or Tiamat doing a suitable remake of 'Into the Light' by Siouxsie and the Banshees.

Would Biohazard be a reasonable alternative...?

New wave/Post-punk for me - pretty much anything by Blondie could stand for a Deep Purple-style treatment, maybe from one of the contemporary Italian bands like I Compagni di Baal, or Midryasi.

I was hoping for a much heaver version and slow male vocals that have an almost Gothic sound to them.

Yeah, fair enough - I can see how that'd work!

You know, in LC's early days, I totally could have seen them pulling that off. I would like to see Katatonia or Anathema do a cover of The Cure's Lovesong; an unusually upbeat track for such a downer band, remade by heavier downer bands.
