First floodings have been reported from the German North Sea coast... Hamburg seems to be bracing for the worst, too.

^^ Brace yourselves, water is coming!

I'm currently half asleep in front of my computer, getting ready to go to bed.

Chatting via Skype, which I usually don't do. It's a rather unusual way to plan new year's eve, but I'll spend it in an unusual way this year, too.

No. I'll travel to Hamburg to visit a woman roughly my age whom I've never actually met, and I'm pretty sure it'll be the strangest and funniest New Year's Eve ever. :D

I'm currently checking the internet for the first time today, trying to relax from the usual Shitmas Eve madness. Almost done, though: afterwards, I'll watch a Star Trek episode and then turn off the light.

Realising how lucky I am to be one of the few normal people in a world full of socially/communicatively/emotionally/intellectually impaired walking heaps of junk DNA. :O The more I analyse people, the more I come to believe that evolution must have taken a wrong turn somewhere. Pitiful humankind... Perhaps growing up means to stop feeling sorry for oneself and starting to feel sorry for the better part of the rest of the world. But I'm not a samarithan, and most of 'em seem to be quite content in their oblivious death-like existence full of empty words and gestures, so I'll just leave them be and look out for normal people instead, although they're tiny needles in a giant haystack. So that's my New Year's resolution, I guess - find some fucking needles and leave the hay where it belongs!

I met Cruel Shoes at the Dutch Doom Days once and he bought an Esoteric CD. :)

Yes, most likely. He was also very young.

Post Re: What are YOU doing right now?

I'm finally finalising my personal 'memorial' sampler for the year 2013, which - unfortunately - can't be kept under four CDs this time. Stocking up from the usual two CD set to three CDs for 2012 already felt like overkill; I had no way of knowing at the time that 2013 would be even richer in music and memorable moments connected with it.

Post Re: What are YOU doing right now?

that's often the case: come December and the year review time, most people are disappointed about the lack of good releases, I think because they keep having certain names in mind and forget to look beyond, at more modest/confidential releases, from more obscure bands.

All in all, I think pretty much each and every year has his good deal of enjoyable albums to offer. You just need to be curious.
