Lovin' the barley wine.
What are your favourite kinds? And, for the afficionados, please share tasting experiences, preferably with label pics!

Any UK people here should get down to Sainsbury's and get the Meantime IPA. It's 2 for £6 but comes in 750ml bottles with a crown on top. At 7.5% it's the strongest (and hoppiest) IPA I've ever had but it's incredible.

IPA, just Deuchars.
I fell in love with the Hoegardeen, Leffe, Abbot Ale and Spitfire.
But above all, the one and only Super Bock

I like Deuchars but this Meantime one is utterly incredible, not to mention twice as strong almost!
I recently had a 6% special version of Marston's Pedigree as opposed to the normal 4.5% one. If you live in the north of England, Booths (northern equivalent of Waitrose) has an absolutely amazing ale section. I found one called 1488 which made me laugh out loud at the name... something to do with Scottish history, as it was a strong ale (7%) matured in casks that had been used to mature single malt whisky.
@ Qwallath, what barley wines do you like? I can only find any in specialist beer shops, with the exception of the mass-produced Gold Label (nothing special) or Robinson's Old Tom which is a wonderful barley wine from Stockport, although not a particularly strong one at 8%, but that just makes it more drinkable.

About the barley wine, I wasn't really serioius... Over here it's just a fun name for really strong beers - things over 10% and the like. Which I love by the way. Keeps me happy for a good part of a drinking night

Haha over here it's a serious name for them. I don't think I could manage drinking them for a night though... at an ale festival I asked for a pint of one and the guy thought I was crazy.

i like alcohol.
Beers..let me think. i loved old abbey blegium beers some time ago, like Pater Noster, St, Denise, Agnus Dei...
nowadays i like or stuff like Hoegaaarden, or classic pilsner beer like Grabelsburg and my fave one: Oranjeboom.

King Cobra, the best lager I ever had. I was always quite ignorant to lagers because I hated the commercial ones, then I realised some are absolutely amazing.

Usually I'm fond of dark ale but yesterday I drank Wee Heavy.
This is definately an exception to the rule.

I don't know which beers you're referring to, but I drank some delicious Russian beers at a beer festival! (Baltika Breweries, forgot which types were good)
Finnish pilsner on the other hand are really bad (e.g. Karhu, Karjala, Koff & Lapin Kulta.), which pisses me off big time. Sandels is acceptable but definately nothing special either.
