Post Do fanatical religious people trust their god?

I know they can't really be reasoned with in such a way. But what really strikes me about all these people who want to murder others in the name of their god is that they must not really have a lot of faith in their gods powers.

If you think you should be judging out punishments, deciding who should live and who should die. It seems to me as if you do not trust that your god has either good judgement him/her/it self, or have faith your god will be able to punish those "unbelievers".

I'm not ranting down on normal religious people. If you want to believe, that is your own business. But those extremist religious people (of all faiths) who just can't stop killing in the name of their god. Seriously, doesn't your god decide who he/she/it calls to it, doesn't he decide when to punish and when to reward people? Why is all this "help" needed? So my theory is, basically extremists like this do not trust their gods power. :p

(note; don't take this to serious. the underlying reasons for, for example terrorism are a very complex issue and that is something I fully realise. Also the political factors behind it. I also realise that most global terrorists organisations at the top are basically cooperation's who are selling terror as a product and who at the top have little left to do with any original goals. It just strikes me how little these - esp the footsolders- people think about their own "faith" if you look at it the way as described above.)

Some don't believe in God at all and just use religion as an excuse.
Others are just plain stupid.

You hit the nail oin the head!

Murder in the name of religion nearly always has a non-religious reason & God is used to justify it.

Well, depends, on the other hand, any form of extremism can be somehow inspiring, especially for some extreme music, etc.
