Yep, very promising so far! I read "Stiller" and "Graf Öderland" last year which were excellent, too. Switzerland has been conquering me lately. :D

I only read it in Italian, though, because my German is not good enough!

Yes, books like these can be tough to read in the original language if you're not too familiar with it. But there's no language which is worse than English when it comes to literature as far as I'm concerned... I could read literary texts in Swedish and Danish after having learned Norwegian (!) for a short while without having to look up every second word, but English vocabulary is just so incredibly disorganised and complicated that I still can hardly read anything fluently without stumbling over weird expressions again and again. And I already have quite a large vocabulary I daresay.

Haha, Fünf Freunde rules, I swallowed these books as a kid and even listened to some cassettes (until I virtually knew them by heart). It's been eternities since I last had my hands on one of them, though.

nah, Ehrlich, Ich würde diese fünf verfluchte Freunde sehr gern erwürgen!

Some books I've read during these last months:
Carlos Ruis Zafon/ l'ombre du vent
Serge Latouche/ Le pari de la décroissance
Abdelwahab Meddeb/ la maladie de l'Islam
Dan Simmons/ le cycle d'Hypérion

You'll have to manage to translate that.

I've just finished James Herbert/ The mystery of Crickley Hall.

And while trying to find a place on my shelves to put it back there, I stumbled on a book I really loved to read, I recommend it, it's the only book of Ken Grimwood: Replay. Awesome story!

ok.. I thought for a moment that you said something bad about me and then, showing some welcome sign of remorse, that you decided to edit your post... but hey, I'm a bit psycho.

yes, you are.... you should know my "sense of humour" by now... :D It was a bit of a wordplay and, to be honest, a bit silly, since I didn't really expect anybody to get the "Intet" thing... but, hey, you never know... :)

Italian humour mixed to English humour should produce something explosively hilarious. I guess you've missed some classes.

Belgian humour reigns supreme! :yes-freak:

Marie Hermanson: "Det finns ett hål i verkligheten"
Howard Phillips Lovecraft: "The Silver Key" (I love this story and have to re-read it every now and then)

I'm reading a book about the Thirty Years' War. Fascinating how things can mess up.
