Did anyone notice a fuck-up in the recording with some strange annoying noises throughout the recording that are not supposed to be there?!

You mean the odd crackles and clicks, particularly in the Estrangement track? I think those're very much supposed to be there, as part of the whole 'unpolished analogue' vibe - the previous works of both bands are recorded the same way.
I really dislike contrived pretend-scratchy-vinyl noise on otherwise perfectly clear digital mixes, but it sounds OK to me for this sort of raw production.

It's fucking annoying, man; made me think my CD player is broken. I talked to the guy from Weird Truth and he said these noises are not supposed to be there. Ruins the split imho.

Fair enough. It's certainly been in the Estrangement track since the first demo version, well before the CD split was decided. Perhaps it was meant to be edited out in the final mix, or something.

I finally managed to listen to this: very interesting indeed! I can only agree with the review. The (neo)classical instrumentation in the Estrangement track was particularly fascinating and unique. Perhaps I should listen to their earlier material, too.

You can find it here:

And Begräbnis, if you're interested:

The Begräbnis part is really good; I find the Estrangement's rather disappointing on the other side. Both ends of the song are good, even if I suspect they could have pushed their psychedelic sides further, but the middle blasting part is really messed up, imo. I don't feel they're very comfortable with that kind of acceleration and it makes for a very awkward, ropy song - unlike you, Endemoniada, I dodn't think the song is particularly well-written in that the transitions would be well thought-out, as you point it... I feel that "thrashing" part comes as a big "no-transition" and it ruins the ortherwordly vibe the band is good at.

Anyone knows where the Begräbnis track can be streamed, it's still not on their bandcamp page and i'm quite interested in hearing it.

As for the discussion about Estrangement - i like the track as much as the demo tape and have the same problem with the fast parts as there - they are way too abrupt and ruin the flow (but i have issues with fast parts in doom in general=)

Fair enough, but I did say why I thought the abruptness of the change was entirely appropriate for the track. It's quite prog-rock-ish, imo, sticking in a real sudden and dislocating shift of tempo like that.

I'll stick it on the site radio this evening.

Yey, thanks a lot!!

Really good track, much more coherent than their previous releases (i recall that Begräbnis have been subject of much ridicule here) and still nice and creepy=))
Hope they keep going in this direction...

true that we had a bit of fun about them, but now, they sound more like Hierophant (or would it be Stabat Mater?) than like a bunch of down-syndrom hipsters desperatly trying to look grim. Thus, it's better.
