As I grant Aphonic Threnody great qualities, I'm still unable to perceive any peculiarities in their sound that'd make them different from the usual pack.... Right now, I'm giving a listen to the new Doomed, and that band illustrates exactly what I mean: Their idiosyncrasy jumps to the ear, there's a strong personal feel to the music (it's a one-man band too, and I suspect it helps sculpting a sound of one's own). I'm not saying this makes AT look pale, no, they're really good, but don't know, maybe it's me, maybe I must deal with their music a bit more in depth, it's just that right now, I don't think they're as excellent as they're painted in this review. :(

It's definitely good, but it's not 9.5 to me... maybe 8... I find rather monotonous after a few spins...

Both split releases are very good but unfortunately I fail to hear what made me like the debut so much, i think the split releases are more straightforward and they are missing something that made the debut fascinating, for me at least=)

I guess, with one track (albeit very long) each, there is no variation... still pretty good, but a bit underwhelming... :D

The tracklist gives two tracks for each band...

edit: Besides, I prefer this split to the one with Ennui.
