I think a lot of people couldn't stand it if they don't understand that Astral sleep's music is full of humour. It is thought out that way.

have you seen them on YouTube playing live in white suits?

Or with black coats?
It's not Doom...
Re: Astral Sleep - "Visions"
that's what is great about them, they're fooling about and look serious while Aarni, for example, fools about a look foolish. that's the grand art of Astral Sleep and their perversity.

Re: Astral Sleep - "Visions"
I think they're admirably subversive! The sleeve notes for the Angel EP are great:
"Since the beginning of our career, Astral Sleep has repeatedly been asked "is Angel your song?". The song in question is not one of ours, we do not have anything to do with it and it sucks.
Thus with this very album we conquer the title "Angel", and from now on it shall carry our name with it - not once, but thrice."
That's really rather cool - would like to know what the original song being referred to is, though. I can't think of anything other than Donovan's 'Astral Angel' that could be confused with 'Astral Sleep - Angel'.

Lucky that Metal Archives doesn't include pure Goth bands, or that list would be about ten times as long...baphomet wrote:pick one:

This was originally uploaded to internet and to youtube with "Astral Sleep" as the name of the band. I don't know where it came from, since it seems not have been the name of the band in the first place. It has also been confused to be a Type o Negative song...
The dresscode for "Angel" EP promo pictures was all white so we used them on stage as well. Next time we play live it is going to be something completely different...
