Minus the opening track that lacks in fluidity, I really was impressed by this album. There's a genuine sense of the epic and the tragic. The singer has still some flaws to correct, but he's progressed a lot.

Doesn't our survival depend on not melting the ice?

Meta, innit? Our survival depends on us melting the ice in the hearts of men sufficiently to persuade them not to carry on melting the actual ice at the poles of the oceans...

Or something.

I do like the band, and the album, though. I'm even prepared to forgive their vocal offences over the years (though Bertrand's stern admonishments at the conclusion of this review - http://www.doom-metal.com/reviews.php?album=1190 - always make me smile. Perfectly put!).

Well, he's made the most of these 11 past years it seems. Another 11 years would bring him to full completion, I suppose.

As for me, I'm happy this band still can take advantage of a relevant review! :D
