Interesting food for thoughts in this review: what would be the best albums Badmoodman have ever put out in your opinion?

It's a good album, but rather inconsistent... the good bits are good and the bad bits are bad... :p

I do not know everything put out by Badmoonman but I remember that Kauan's Aava Tuulen Maa was on that label and few albums can top this=)

Again, I can only name one off the top of my head - the first (echo) album. Which is great.

Actually, Rome In Monochrome kind of reminds me of the (echo) debut in its more calm places.

And as for Away From Light - I like it quite a lot for what it is, the harsh vocals can be out of place at times but I find the rating pretty accurate=)

The sound is not too far away... what Rome In Monochrome lack is maturity. They are still a bit raw and unrefined. Personally, I look forward to the second album. It could be stellar... well, I hope so... :p

Plus the Narrow House & Odradek Room mentioned in the review, and they also put out The Morningside, Helevorn, Vinterriket, Wedding In Hades, Subterranean Disposition, Zgard, Raventale. IIRC, they also did one album of each of Marche Funebre and Poema Arcanvs (a bit surprising those were on BMM rather than Solitude proper, but there you go). And some of those Russian named bands that I sometimes can't tell apart without listening to them all again, but I think the more interesting ones were also the BMM ones.
On average, I actually reckon BMM might well have a better quality roster than the main Solitude one. Not all Doom, obviously, and I don't know that I'd like to name a 'best' - but I'd certainly put Narrow House (Thanathonaut), The Morningside (Treelogia), Subterranean Disposition (Contagiuum...) right up near the top.

Haha, I've done a lot of interviews, reviews and bandlist updates in the last several years...sometimes I can even remember some of it!
