As you say, it gets better and better with each listen. Woods of Ypres with more balls, The Living Fields with less hysteria.

It's a more black metal version of Woods of Ypres... not bad, but a touch tiresome on the long run...

Very well balanced blend of genres. One of their vocalists sounds like the guy from Orphans of Dusk.

I'm not too thrilled about this... too many fast sections and the slow ones are not always good enough to listening through the former.

But I can see where the high rating comes - the album is very diverse, competently made and has some really amazing sections. Actually the more I listen to it, the sadder I become that I cannot enjoy it thoroughly... for example the ending of "Becoming Intangible" is simply awesome=)

I think it's a masterpiece... :) it's so complex and well orchestrated it's almost frightening. I understand you don't like the faster/black metal sections with blast beats... I didn't like them either at the beginning, but I got used to them now... I'm listening to the debut right now...

The second half of this album is really great. I'm not to keen on the first one though..... the vocals have that annoying post-core feeling on the fast sections that I personally hate.
Anyway, I'll try it again later and see if it grows on me.
