There's not much I don't like about this band

Very much in agreement with that!
For me, everything they've released has hovered around the 9/10 region. Never quite hit perfection, but never been very far away from it either...!

very good... there are a few faults, but I don't tend to like perfection... :p

I think they failed to create a sound of their own. They're terribly lacking personality. An average death doom band in which I really can't see anything that would make the difference... And even the growls are tiresome imo.
The female vocals for all their limitations are interestingly used, for the rest, really for the die-hard, never-have-enough fans (same league as Revelations of Rain, Fall of Empyrean, and other DD Solitude products..)

well, personally, I never said they were ground-breaking... good doom for a pleasant background when working... they remind me a bit of EOS, as in the fact they tend to use the same formula... so, if you don't like them, you won't like any of their albums...

I think this is a step in the right direction for them.

I loved the debut EP and still love almost every minute of it. So I was really excited for their following releases, but they were all let-down for me - competent music, but totally unexciting and boring at times. And I really wanted to like them.

This album - though nothing groundbreaking again, at least sounds fresh to my ears and I keep getting back to it with excitement. The sound is great and the melodies pleasing=) I cannot help feeling that they are capable of much more though...
