I wouldn't praise this band that much. They do the job, it's cool but not outstanding in any way.

You're right, it's nothing new or original, but it's very well done and the atmosphere is strong, too. Unfortunately, the vocals don't live up to that.

For one thing, they're too far buried in the mix, and for another, they just don't carry any emotion in my book. Too deep, subdued and monotonous. It may be a matter of taste - I feel similarly about Eye of Solitude / Deos.

Funny: I don't remember writing the above, nor, indeed, ever listening to this band before. Today I picked it out of my long collection of music-related bookmarks and hit play while making risotto, and damn, I was blown away! Maybe it was just because the mediocre speakers in my kitchen didn't really bring out the shortcomings of the vocals? In any event, I'm disappointed to find out the CD is long sold out. :/ Truth be told, Funeral Doom of this magnitude and with such masterful compositions is very rare.
