That cat seems to always have the same facial expression, Detox.
I'll post some pics later when I'm at home (or maybe tomorrow, if I don't find the time today).

I noticed this as well. She only looks differently when she wants food or when she's playing.

Okay, it took me some more days to finally post some pictures, but here they are.

First the regular pets:

Image
Floyd (left) and Flip (right). They're my girlfriend's, but as she had to leave her flat lately, they're temporarily staying with us. I love those two. :)

Image
My sister's dog Lulu (one of two Shizus, she has some more animals) and the cavies sniffing at each other.

Now to the rather coincidental pets:

Image
This guy seemed to be very thirsty after being trapped inside our bathroom for about two days. He desperately tried to suck the water from the terrace table. I made some more of these close-up shots and I find them very interesting.

Image
It's my girlfriend's hand this youngster is sitting on. I discovered dozens of them in a park near my wannabe-work some weeks ago, and back then they were even half of that size. We took him to the pond in our garden.

Image
This splendid fellow happened to sit on a wall in our garden yesterday, and funny enough, I was just talking about his tiny collegue from above when we discovered him.

Image
I got rid of this fly. Its farewell was this obscene pose.

I bet no one knew that I'm actually a horse owner. Hehe. I've been part owner of this guy for over a year now. The name on the paper is my girlfriends, though. His name is Uller and he's a two year old stallion. The 'u' is pronounced like the one in 'cute'. I believe the name comes from Ullr, the norse god of hunting, but all we know from the orignal owner is that it's from norse mythology.

Outside Norway it's very few people that know of the horsebreed called Nordlands-/Lyngshest (hest=horse). It's a breed that used to belong in Northern-Norway in the old days and it's likely the forefather of the more known icelandic horse breed as well as the shettis. Uller is of this breed, and even when the breed is known for a high intelligence, he's one of the smartest I've met. Among other things he enjoys drawing with sticks in the snow. He's got a really kind heart and loves people of all sizes. He's even clever enough to understand that he has to be more careful around children. As you can see in the last photograph, he's even got a sense of humor. He's got a 2nd priced father and his own looks are good enough to get him qualified for breeding. In fact we hope to get him qualified next year. Needless to say, I think he's the perfect horse.

Then there is my girlfriends cat. His name is Gulliver and he's a holy birma with a little hint of norwegian forest cat. He's the unfortuenate result of a mother and son moment. There is also supposed to be some more inbreeding on the mothers behalf, but we don't know where. We believe this is why he's the worlds most confused cat, but there seems to be too much wrong with him to really make a diagnosis. Amongst other things he sounds like he's saying "nei" (no) all the time. Thus when he yells "no" in the kitchen, he's hungry. Once we serve him the food, we have to point several times on it before he recognizes it. Infact it happends that we have to put his nose into the bowl before he realises it's there. But he's a very kind and tolerant cat who's more social than most others. A loveable creature.

My parents have two dogs. One samojed and one shetland sheepdog.
The white fuzzball is known as Ayla. Samojeds are stubborn, but she's really the worst of them. She's got her own opinion on everything. She's quite bossy when it comes to other dogs, especially males, but she's never mean. She's a lady herself and expects all males she meets to behave like gentlemen. If they try to sniff the behind before the nose, they'll get a real scolding. Perhaps the best story is when a labrador male that weighs ten kilos more than her, decided to pee in her dogyard. She never does so herself, I mean, would you pee on your own floor? Peeing on her walls is a fellany in that dogyard. She's so good at scolding that she didn't even need to get up. She just lay in her own corner and the male sat in the opposite while looking really ashamed of himself. But though stubborn and strict, she's a very gentle dog who seeks to keep the family/"pack" together, in good health and happy. I often use her as a pillow. She doesn't mind until she becomes too warm because of all that fur. When she's had enough she doesn't even rise, but licks me as if asking me to please get up.

Image

The name of the sheltie is Tussi (Eyore from W. Pooh is called Tussi in norwegian, despite the fact that Tussi is a female name). She's nine, and a year older than Ayla. She used to live with my grandmother before she died. My grandmother was a bit senile and the dog was always "hungry", thus when my grandmother kept forgetting wether she had fed the dog or not... Well, let's just say that Tussi looked like a furry aubergine when we inherited her. She weighed 16 kilos then and she's now back to a normal weight of 8 kilos. She's always had a really kind personality and she follows you everywhere around the house. She wants to be a part of everything. Unfortuenately she's had two strokes, the last one in march. She remains much the same dog as she always has been, but she's clearly more confused now. But, as long as she's happy and living a good life, it doesn't really matter to us. She's a great girl.

sadly stray, but he comes every day and he's pretty much our baby. We can't touch him unless we're giving him an extra tasty treat :p
