I'm ditching the EMGs in both of the guitars above that have them at some point. Much prefer passives

Here's a teaser featuring my instrument, a Hurdy Gurdy model Viola by the autstrian luthier Wolfgang Weichselbaumer. It has three melodystrings, three drones, three trompettestrings and twelve sympathetic strings.

Post Re: Show your instrument

This is my pride and joy, my 2012 Epi LP Custom. I've done a lot of work on it. I replaced the tuning pegs with Grover locking tuners, put on a nice Schaller bridge, replaced the neck pickup with a Gibson 490R and the bridge pickup with a Gibson Dirty Fingers, bypassed the tone & volume pots for the bridge, and bypassed the volume pot for the neck. It sounds absolutely daemonic downtuned 4 half steps...I'm amazed but I'm still able to use 46 to 10 gauge strings with no buzz. I run it through a POD XT Live and straight into the board.

Well, here´s my trusty old 1976 Fender Precision. Bought it cheap (those were the days...) back in 1991 because of Steve Harris & Geezer influences. SVT 2 non pro amp is another wreck that I got second hand in ´97. Solid setup.

Yeah, and a Rick too. A 2001 4001 Chris Squire Ltd. Dig that massive chrome pickup! Very heavy sound, but with bite as well. I used it back in 1999(?) on The Satellite Circle CD EP Way beyound The Portal of the Bone White Rubber Sun".

And this is a doomy one. A 1964 Gibson Thunderbird II. Handles low C without problems & scares the shit out of any tube amp. Growl! I play it on the Cosmic Overlord recording in my bandcamp sig. Old mahogny is lightweight & vibrates nicely.

d.mimosa's flat is black and white, like an old movie, haven't you noticed that? It's also ultra-clean, I'm sure! :D Just look below the radiator, you could just eat on that floor!

You got a problem with that? :p Frankly, though, I never would have apted for a white floor covering myself (it's actually PVC). The previous tenant left it. There's no use in investing in this place anymore since I've been looking for a better flat for quite some time now (which is not an easy task, mind you!). I am currently in the process of refurnishing everything and am primarily looking for furniture in a dark-brown wooden hue (something like this), so no, it's not black and white.

As for the digital piano, though: yes, I absolutely wanted the white version! Every time I see a white piano somewhere, I am in awe. They have such an elegant look. Almost everybody uses black pianos/keyboards. I wanted something different/special, and I'm not disappointed in any way: this one looks so much better than its black counterpart!

Have you noticed my ingenious use of the piano stool as a headphone stand, btw? :D
