Post need some mix advice

Having some trouble with my mix. its just a backing track and I know the intro is slop (bass is straight trash but I'm no bassist) but its good enough to get some drums under I think. but what I'd really need to know is why the guitars sound so weak. I;d like to warm them up but I'm struggling. I have 4 passes on the guitars 2 for each side... Its just a straight forward death metal thing

lemme know what you think:

I can't listen to it here, but I'd suggest plugging directly into your mixer when recording the guitars. Or, if you've got a good spot to record, mic them in a bathroom. If they still sound weak then consider the amplifier you're using. The Yamaha THR10 is what I recently used and it allowed me to fake a Mesa Boogie's sound fairly well. It made the guitars sound huge in fact.

I'm no professional, but that's what I'd look into.

You could try to record at least four guitar tracks for any guitar part. Try to make it like:

- distorted - center
- crunched - center, using additional ambiance effects
- clean - left
- clean - right

We doubled the distorted parts, too giving it to the room. Then we centered the clean parts using ambiance effects such as a little bit delay. It makes your sound very fat, delay adding some warmth.

You can add some delay on the clean parts, making it sound very wide. For making it warmer you can try to change the settings in your track Equalizer. Hope this may help you.
