Post Vin de Mia Trix - doom metal, Ukraine

Hello, we are Vin de Mia Trix, a band from Kyiv, Ukraine. Our music is a blend of different Doom Metal subgenres, including various elements of other styles, from Blues Rock to Post-Metal.

The band was formed in 2007, releasing an EP in 2010 (which received a surprisingly positive review here on doom-metal.com).
We're planning to release a full-length album soon.

We would like you to check out our music:
http://soundcloud.com/vin-de-mia-trix - here you can find a first track from the upcoming full-length, which shows the direction we took with our first album.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zawMPhB8gcM - here is our best (in terms of both quality and performance) live video so far.
http://vindemiatrixband.com/ - also, there is a homepage underway.

Any comments would be highly appreciated.

Best regards,
Andrew and Vin de Mia Trix

We're currently looking for a drummer, I guess it's worth mentioning. Although there is absolutely no possibility that a drummer from Kiev would see this message here.

Well, true. Still, drummers, especially those interested in Doom, are quite rare in these parts, and I find it doubtful that some of them would overlook my messages on local forums, but visit this one. Of course, I would be happy to be proven wrong.

Yes, I know, I've mentioned it in my first post. We are very grateful for that, it was very surprising and pleasant to find that our EP was reviewed here, especially since the review was quite positive. Dominik perfectly understood exactly what we wanted to say, and even guessed the direction we really did take after releasing that CD.
I think our next album won't be a disappointment for those who read the review!

Your new material is excellent and absolutely promising, as I've already told you in private. :) Vin de Mia Trix surely is a band to keep an eye on! I'm still glad you're so happy with the review. :D

We've uploaded the video of our newest song, performed live at Autumn Solitude Evening II in Kiev, 20.10.2012.
Unfortunately, we couldn't get a drummer for that show.
This song will be opening our second album (which will be released in a mere couple of hundred years...)

Man, this is really an impressive song! Definitely the best Vin de Mia Trix track I've heard so far. Despite its length, it manages to captivate me throughout and remains interesting from beginning to end. It's full of cool ideas but still coherent. The most impressive thing about this live recording is that, despite the limitations in sound quality and the fact that you neither use a second guitar nor keyboards or any other kind of ornament, everything sounds extremely dense and atmospheric. Kudos to that! The instrumental (and, as usual, vocal) work is very good, too. On top of that, your mate with the bass guitar is wearing a cool shirt - I want one too! :D Anyway, I sure as hell hope I won't have to wait a couple of hundred years to hear this on CD. Great work.

What he said, basically. Apart from the bit about the shirt. :p

Let me guess: You don't like it because it's not black? :p

It's a shame that my bit of the stage was too dark for my really cool black Altar of Plagues shirt to be seen.

Ah, indeed - it seems like a plain t-shirt without any print on it!

I feel other people are entitled to wear frivolously-coloured clothing if they wish, but it really shouldn't be encouraged :oldfart: !

It's a diSEMBOWELMENT shirt, after all; if it would be black, the whole planet would be sucked into it's enormous gravity field.

Now that would be a proper T-shirt!

Blue?! Only suitable for private activities such as DIY or gardening, where one doesn't want to get nice clothes dirty. For general wear, it is acceptable to have coloured logos on black clothes, as long as they are not too gaudy.
Surprisingly, my advice on sartorial elegance isn't sought all that often. I've never quite understood that.

... :p ...

Indeed: I got a black diSEMBOWELMENT hoodie which, on top of it all, is a bit too small, and I really feel sucked into my own internal void whenever I'm wearing it! But then again, I feel that way when I'm not wearing it, too... :D

Thanks for clearing this up, I'll keep it in mind for future purchases! :p

Actually, I made an interesting experiment this summer with regard to these clothing issues: There's a highly frequented promenade down by the harbour where I used to go for a walk almost every day. One day, I went there with the usual doomy outfit, y'know, black trousers, black shoes, Profetus shirt (I think it was), a fitting facial expression etc. The next day, I took my grey clamdiggers (never heard that word before, hope it's the right one; at any rate, I hardly ever wear short trousers in public, let alone the grey pair!), brown shoes and the blue Portishead shirt, tried a more 'open', upright posture and so on. The glances from other pedestrians were noticeably more positive. I hardly saw any of the scepticism with which people tend to look at me most of the time. :;): It didn't make much of a difference with regard to potential mating partners, though; that promenade is frequented by old people, sportsmen and couples almost exclusively, so there wasn't all that much to be gained in the first place. But as a social experiment, it was worth the while nonetheless.

Well, it's been years since I last dressed elegantly enough - amount of black clothes in my wardrobe decreases slowly but steadily. I've been leaning towards more 'earthly' colors for these last years - you know, dark green, khaki, brown, sandy; strong love for plaid shirts (or, more specifically, tartan); even got a red polo shirt! And I've been blasphemous enough to wear brown cargo pants with a green t-shirt on stage!
