Post PREORDER: new albums of CELESTE & MARIO DIAZ DE LEON · MT. F

Hey.

After more than ten years of existence, four years after the last album and with more than 300 shows under the belt Celeste are back with the highly anticipated sixth album "Infidèles".

„Celeste still are, and will always be the masters of black. Like no others they understand its various shades, its warmth and its coldness, its exclusiveness and immersiveness, its monstrosity and its beauty.“

In line with the new album we're offering a reissue of almost the complete Celeste back catalogue. Some of the vinyl versions with a slightly new design and all with new vinyl colours.

We're also very delighted to present the third full length of Mario Diaz De Leon. Performed by the brilliant TAK Ensemble, “Sanctuary” is a ritualistic masterwork of modern classical music, combining acoustic and electronic elements with visionary intensity.

New artist: Philipp Rumsch is a composer, pianist, and sound designer from Germany. Besides his conceptual work on transferring the sound aesthetic and compositional principles of Minimal, Pop and Electronic Music into an acoustic and orchestral format, the 22 year old composer and pianist Philipp Rumsch concentrates in his solo-project on electro-acoustic music. His debut „A Forward-Facing Review“ is one of his works resulting from a one-year study period at „Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium“ in Copenhagen. The LP comes with a handprinted silkscreened B-side and is limited to 100 pieces.

Last but not least we're pleased to present you the reissue of a Denovali classic from 2009: The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation – Succubus album. The vinyl edition is limited to 350 pieces on white vinyl.

MARIO DIAZ DE LEON · SANCTUARY CD | 12'' | DIGITAL

Image

Performed by the brilliant TAK Ensemble, “Sanctuary” is a ritualistic masterwork of modern classical music, combining acoustic and electronic elements with visionary intensity.

For the third full length document of his classical works, Mario Diaz de Leon presents his most unified offering to date, distilling the modernistic hellfire of his previous releases to a crystalline essence. “Sanctuary” is an album length piece created in collaboration with TAK Ensemble, a brilliant NYC based quintet devoted to energetic and virtuosic performances of contemporary music. Featuring soprano voice, flute, violin, bass clarinet, marimba, and the composer's own synthesizer work, the album is a hypnotic and ritualistic journey through realms of angelic and demonic experience.

“21st century chamber music that combines crystalline clarity with the disorienting turbulence of a sonic vortex.” - WIRE Magazine

“Plenty of people can write a one-off ‘amplified' piece for chamber musicians, but few artists have built a language as stable and rewarding as Diaz de Leon's.” - Pitchfork

PHILIPP RUMSCH · A FORWARD FACING REVIEW 12'' | DIGITAL

Image

The debut of Philipp Rumsch is a twenty-minute long concept composition with two parts exploring in two different ways a various amount of sounds as well as their gradual modulation. „Part I“ consists of different layers arranged in a counterpoint-like construct. As a result an oscillating entity emerges, whose elements respond to each other. A wide range of frequencies, sonic characteristics and elements. "Part II" is more minimalistic. An almost constant number of elements creates a sonic composition, which rests in itself. Thus development emerges through a gradual modulation of a few parameters.

On „A Forward-Facing Review“ Philipp Rumsch pursues open forms with a focus on exploration and variation of sound by using sparse fragments of melodies and a natural-floating pulse instead of a constant, metrical grid. He invites the listener to accept subtle developments and offers the possibility to immerse into a difficile and diverse soundscape. Danish artists Anders Bach and August Rosenbaum as well as Icelandic composer, sound designer and multiinstrumentalist Valgeir Sigurðsson supported Rumsch in producing „A Forward-Facing Review“.

CELESTE · INFIDÈLE(S) CD | 2x12'' | DIGITAL

Image

Not yet satisfied with the level of detail on "Animale(s)", Celeste have doubled their efforts in writing and producing "Infidèle(s)". Thus their new album is by far their most diversified to date, showcasing ever richer melodies. While "Animale(s)" was rather a cohesive concept album, on "Infidèle(s)" each song is different and stands on its own. Celeste have gone a long way from their relentless first albums where you could barely notice when a song finished and the next one started. Here we are facing 10 different absolute entities, each with its own character and emotion.

As usual vocalist Johan worked closely with a photographer in order to create an artwork which matches the artistic vision of the band. The worldwide renowned artist Marta Bevacqua accepted the challenge and the massive production with ten female models was certainly worth the effort. The resulting artwork of "Infidèle(s)" is simply iconic. Celeste still are, and will always be the masters of black. Like no others they understand its various shades, its warmth and its coldness, its exclusiveness and immersiveness, its monstrosity and its beauty.
