First couple of seconds and you know you're meeting a band with a great sense for sinister groove.

I found very nice compilation videos in youtube with lots of Russian post-punk/new wave type of stuff, it's a whole series "Russian Doomer Music" and has volumes from 1 to 16, not all of it is great, but it's certainly rather bleak=)

An example:

Arche have their debut album announced for this year and one of the tracks is available in the Transcending Obscurity sampler, it's pretty exciting:

Ennoea's style of Sludge drone doom is rather tasty.

Listen to the last track of this Ep of theirs:

The most recent productions of Ennoea are worth it imo.

Here's a new post-doom project which includes members of Greyfell, responsible for an excellent debut album released a coupe of years back.

I've been listening to Lord Grief today, one of the few cheap amateurish Doom projects from that time, that I still find thoroughly enjoyable.

Similar cheap, but calm and pleasant vibe can be find in this weird album:

Uncertainty Principle is getting a quite interesting release next month - something of a best-of album with all songs re-recorded with a "more straightforward approach, closer to death-doom and sludge".

It's a pity no tracks from my favourite album "Distant" are included, but the first two released songs sound pretty good, though they would not replace the original versions for sure=)

Something of the Warning-trademark in the mournful droning guitar, the languishing rhythm; add a singer that sounds a bit like David Bowie and you have a new interesting underground melo doom project.

The two songs available are pretty nice and melancholic, yes.

But it's a damn weird band, this seems like an almost-doom album (with a weird town inspired lyrical theme), the previous one is acoustic folk and the one before awful black metal, go figure=)))

Yes, I checked the previous releases too, and indeed it feels like a band still seeking its style. If they stick to their latest compos, it could lead to something really strong.
