Bethlehem - Dictius Te Necare
https://bethlehem.bandcamp.com/album/dictius-te-necare
(this song again: "Verschleierte Irreligiosität")

I checked out some reviews on metal-archives. One of the reviews compared the vocals of a later release to Scatman John. An insult not to be taken lightly!

Etienne Pelosoff - Trve Brutal Black Jazz
One of the songs is Soul Power from James Brown

Frowing - first track from the new album - very, very promising, great progression from this band, hopefully the whole album will be in this vein

I forgot about this album. 10 bucks is a steep price for a download. No preview track on BC either. :poke:

klamerin wrote:
Sygdom - Onkosphaere - surpringly nice, though I would have liked the vocals to be a bit more subdued for this type of music; but the choking and coughing on recordings is one of the cheapest and most appalling gimicks, very annoying.

The coughing is over the top. But the release is basically a demo. The guy can still get his health sorted out for the next release. :;):

Dead Neanderthals - Blood Rite - amazing, love the scraping, drawn-out keyboard lines, the sound here is quite a feat for a guitarless drone/doom

I didn't read the description (or even look at the band pic apparently) and didn't know until later that it was just a synth. Sounded like perfectly reasonable drone doom guitars. Then I saw this:

Good FD here, last period Evoken comes to mind, Tyranny too, now and then, in a more civilized way; it's plodding along without much variations, as the style commands. It has some grand moments though, this kind of hold-in epicness I like.

Only 12 minutes into first song.. Good stuff, definitely.

edit: third song is quieter, less harsh, with some very obvious Mournful Congreagation vibes

Post Re: To what listenest thou?

Recent new stuff I've checked:

VRTRA - My Bones Hold a Stillness - way too many fast parts and a bit too "modern"-sounding for my liking, though it has some amazing guitar lines

Triglathena - Terminal - this is quite promising, I really like the extended outro of the song. Interestingly, the band's previous album is quite different (but still good) and at times reminds me of Beyond Belief's demos. The first is a bit amateurish at times, so kudos for the fast progression.

The Taciturn - The Ultimate Sickness - too standard and unoriginal, not actively annoying and ok as background music, but they must try harder (and the SoD cover contributes nothing and noone needs it=)

Kira McSpice - Aura - nice, dreamy and gloomy

Caged - Stricken by Continuance - not my cup of tea at all, brutal but has nothing else to offer

Doomslut - Dissonant Evil - not impressed by the band name, but the very cheap Esoteric imitation they provide is actually really enjoyable, dark and dense, definitely worth a listen=)))

I liked this one. It is an improvement. Her vocals on the previous one are too weird in places. The last song also had an unexpected doom part:

Have you checked out Compost Golem? Another dumb name but good music. Not just noise either. It's one of the best things lately.

Curious about this as well. I also liked what I heard so far of

Sönma - Terra
https://sonmaterra.bandcamp.com/releases

Cosmic Trip -Astral Vision From The Necropolis Far Beyound The Stars
"Stoner doom" with growls. Just two long tracks. Seriously heavy and mindless.

This is nice, I remember them from their weird beginnings when they named their tracks after their length and was never impressed, but this album is very good.

You mean he uploaded old material, or you have found lots of new material somewhere? Because in his bandcamp the only new album I found was The Hive, which is very old school sounding - very similar to "Aeons of Dreams" period where he relied heavily on rumbling effects (some parts sound exactly like parts of FotGWO's debut album actually). I wish there is some genuine new material from this project, "Channelers" left it on a very high note, wonderful album.

I find it more dynamic, less ethereal. But I only skimmed through Caesar when it came out, without giving it much attention. In fact this one hooked me at once.

Indeed it is, quite sad that her upcoming album is a solo instrumental one made only with pipe organ... (and it's not even a good album, judging from the tracks that are released)

I don't like everything she puts out. Some songs are pure barbarous poetry though. Like 'come wander with me' on the previous album.

BTW, would anyone here have a copy of desire/ Pentacrow to upload for me?
